Top Film & TV Apps on Android in the US: Q1 2025 Performance

In the first quarter of 2025, the top film and television applications on Android in the United States demonstrated varied performance trends. According to data from Sensor Tower, these apps have shown interesting patterns in weekly downloads, revenue, and active users.

Tubi: Free Movies & Live TV experienced a notable spike in weekly downloads, peaking at around 525K in early February. However, its weekly active users initially grew to approximately 8.1M in mid-February before declining to 4.1M by the end of March.

Netflix saw a gradual decrease in weekly downloads, starting from 228K at the beginning of January to about 154K by the end of March. Meanwhile, its weekly active users fluctuated, starting the quarter at 13.3M and ending at 11M.

HBO Max: Stream TV & Movies showed consistent revenue generation, ranging from $2M to $2.6M weekly. Downloads varied slightly, ending the quarter with a rise to 169K. Active users also increased, reaching over 4M by the quarter's end.

Apple TV saw a significant surge in weekly downloads in February, reaching over 300K, accompanied by a steady increase in revenue, peaking at approximately $93K. Active users also grew, reaching 1.5M by the end of March.

Disney+ maintained strong weekly revenue, peaking at $3.1M in late February. Downloads showed a slight increase towards the end of the quarter, reaching 153K. Active user numbers rose to 4.7M in early March before stabilizing around 4.3M.
